Though the trees are bare
New life springs forth this year
the snow is thick, and the air; chilly
but cobwebs are swept away
and spirits soar high
In the dead of winter,
a new year is born
in this desolate setting
giving no hint to all the new
things that are coming your way.
Are we not all beggars
Do we not all want for more?
And we are all guilty of sins
no matter how small
We all have trials that leave us broken and defeated,
Whether big or small,
sometimes we need to overlook
the 'injustice' of it all
There will always be someone
whose got it worse
who drew the shortest straw
There are those who seem to have it set
but in reality their straws have been clipped
down quite a bit shorter,
or just a smidge
But we ALL know pain
big or small
sometimes we just need to over look
the 'injustice'
of it all.
I've lost my inspiration
My muse is gone
There is no more sweet seduction
to write this song
And persistent birds,
they'll sing their song
I guess when someone dies inside
their body carries on
Marching to an nonexistent beat
tired shuffling feet
World caving in
Crushing waves
Drowning out all sound
of persistent singing birds.
And at the end there is hope
or at least I try to reach
Groping for something
as I drift into sleep.
Love, Loneliness, and Heartbreak by ZeusoftheAllmighty, literature
Literature
Love, Loneliness, and Heartbreak
Love
is not one particular feeling or the other
Love is the truly unavoidable presence of feeling
(not describable, or avoidable, but indescribable and quite unavoidable)
So heartbreak is...
(not something that can be pin pointed and taken care of)
it's inescapable sadness,
Loneliness;
(is not the absence of something
but rather,) the suffocating feeling that you are, in fact,
Alone.
If I could capture this moment by ZeusoftheAllmighty, literature
Literature
If I could capture this moment
If I could capture this moment
Using words
or colors
and lines
I'd draw the sun in the palm of my hand
and the stars in your eyes
Maybe somehow I could capture
the feeling of happiness...
I might sketch the outline of your face
and try to recreate the color in your eyes
Or maybe I could draw me
Because you don't really need others
for you to feel happy...
Just being myself makes me smile.
Don't take your pain
to create something painful,
or sad.
Try and take your pain
to create something beautiful,
inspiring
Paint the yellows
when all you can see are the grays
and when darkness overcomes you
Overcome darkness with hope.
What we are meant to become by ZeusoftheAllmighty, literature
Literature
What we are meant to become
If you ever happen to see
an injured bird,
flightless on the side of the road
It is best to stop and
fix its' wounds with healing words
take it in your arms,
and help it learn to fly again
Because you never know
what that bird,
is meant to become
"He loves me"
"He loves me not."
These silky petals,
are all she's got.
For more than now
For one more shot
at something worth fighting for.
Before we rot.
I stood in front of the curtained windows of our shabby apartment, thoughts whirling in my head, I clung to the rope as if it was my only friend, and in a way, it was. All my friends had seemed to become more like psychiatrists. But I didn't need someone nodding and listening, I needed someone looking me in the eye and saying "Hey! Wake up Buddy! She doesn't love you! Get up and get over it! Killing yourself won't help dumb a-."
My hands were rubbed raw, palms red and pink; I winced when the rope brushed on them again. This was my last life line, Tony was elsewhere, Avery wasn't all that close to me anyways, and her other two friends, that
at some point you just have to realize.
realize that he's not worth it.
not worth those thoughts of suicide.
not worth those tears streaming down your face.
not worth the lies you tell your friends.
not worth kidding yourself that you're happy.
at some point you have to face it.
you have to look yourself the eye,
and tell yourself that you are worth it.
you are worth love and happiness.
you are worth kept promises.
you are beautiful no matter what he says.
at some point you have to look at him in the eye.
and tell him it's over.
that each and every one of those days,
waking up in misery-with those horrible memories,
of him in bed with her..
